THE TRAUMA OF HEARTBREAK

This body of work investigates the meanings and experiences of trauma's heartbreak. My work is a visual metaphor for the effects of heartbreak on the body. I combine and layer photographs and transparencies of gears, X-rays of the human body, 3d models of human organs, and CT scans to illustrate how it destabilizes individuals, fractures relationships, and heightens vulnerability to further harm.
